Not - Belonging To The British Middleclass Is Not Really That Easy

In the face of every view about making oneself part and parcel of the British middleclass, it is not really that easy coping with the financial expectations of belonging to this class. This proposition has been put forth by Axa.

An all inclusive research into this issue reveals that there are lots of people who uphold themselves as belonging to the middleclass. But on the contrary, these people lack what it takes to be really fitted into this class. In fact, research shows that only one out of every five persons meets this criterion. The barest financial minimum of living within this class of persons is said to be not less that 62,000 pounds. In most cases, such persons should be the actual owners of the homes they live in, plus the fact that they are owners of at least two cars.

If you are said to belong to the middleclass, your income should rank inside the 70th and 90th % of all those who call themselves wage earners. This is what makes the total figure stand at 62,000 pounds. This figure is even double to what is considered enough for a normal Briton. This research also shows that just about 20% of those who think they belong to the middle class are actually of that class. This therefore means that it is not settled as to what type of person should belong to the middleclass as well as the average class.

On the other hand, it is believed that a lot of people will move from the average class into the middleclass. Keep in mind that the incomes of a lot of people are increasing. In fact, the concept of fairness of income is now prevailing in the job market.

Steve Folkard is a representative of Axa. In his view, he holds that the concept of the new labor has given rise to class awareness and a lot of people believe that the majority of Britons belong to the middleclass. The fact the housing is becoming affordable to almost all Britons means people uphold the fact that they belong to the middle class. But research proves that only a very small proportion of these people really belong to the middleclass. The cost of living within the concept of the middle class is high and even those who are really of the middleclass as beginning to feel the pinch of those costs. He sums up by saying that the overall increase in the cost of living is one of the causes of the difficulties often faced by Britons.

Those who aspire making a progress or those who intend to move out of their current financial situation should opt for some form of secured loan to better their lives. Even if this loan is possible, it is still evident that there is still a rising cost for home maintenance for those in the middle class. This additional cost is about 10,000 pounds per annum.

Another independent analysis carried out by Prudential also suggests that at least a very large number of Britons believe that their greatest worries are financial worries.
