Self Development - How To Get Back Up When You Fall In Business

Getting up is tough after you take a fall in your business. Some unexpected event that throws you off track can easily keep you off track unless you get right back up. Even the most optimistic of us loses faith, energy, and interest. It happens to the best of us. It's just like a boxing match: if you go down longer than the count of ten, you're out. So the best you can do is to get up quickly!

Never give up.
When giving up is not a choice, then you do things differently. You look for a new approach rather than a way out! If you have the slightest thought in your mind that you can always quit, then you're destined to fail. Since you have other choices, every time you hit a bump or fall, your mind always looks at the other choices. It looks for the path of least resistance. When you're down, quitting is the path of least resistance. So let go of the choice of giving up.
Falling happens. Accept it.

When you were learning to walk, you fell many times. You got back up and tried again. Eventually you could walk with no problem. You have to realize that falling is part of growing. When you fall, the next natural step is to get up. We learn to grow and become stronger from our falls. While learning to walk, if you had stayed down after your first fall, you wouldn't be walking today. So falling is part of growing; staying down is not.

Tips for getting up quickly after a fall in business:

* Go back to a time when you felt great!
Go back to the day when you were enthusiastic about your business idea. Remember the feelings you had. Instead of pondering what's going on, think back to the days when you were passionate and how you couldn't wait to start. This will help you get up and get moving.

* Look at the end result.
Look farther ahead than today. Look at your goal when it's fully actualized. Take a few minutes to daydream and feel that you've reached your goal. Experience it in your mind. Think about how it will affect others in your life. Think of all the good that will occur because of your success.

* Think for a moment about what will happen if you don't get up.
Let's say you're working on a home business and it's not going the way you want. Your first thoughts may be to go back to your old job. "At least I'm safe there", you may think. "I don't have so much responsibility, and I don't need to put in so much time."
But what will your co-workers think of you? You failed to making a go of it on your own. What will your friends think? But most of all, what will go on in your mind for the rest of your life? What's it going to cost you emotionally? What about your freedom? Do you think going back to your old job will be the same? It can't be, because you're returning from a failed venture. Again, it's not easy getting back up from a fall, but staying down may be even more painful. You decide!

* Think of people who are less fortunate than you are.
You see, there are many people who are a lot worse off than you are. Have you ever watched the movie Cinderella Man starring Russell Crowe? It's the story of James Braddock, who went from being wealthy and successful to being one of the victims of the Depression. He would wait on the docks to get a few hours of work so he could feed his family. His wife sent their kids to her parents so they could be warm and get nourishment. Every time I think I have a tough time, I think of that movie and I get my motivation back and become grateful rather than bitter.

* Think of how strong you'll be when you get up
Once you get up, you've already become a stronger person, because you just got up. As you keep getting up, it becomes harder to stay down. You're training to be a fighter. You're building your self-esteem, you're building your willpower, you're building your personality! Get up. You'll feel good. You'll especially appreciate it in the future when looking back on your journey.

* Make a list of your successes
List your successes, no matter how big or small. List them all. They're your successes, so list what you feel is a success to you. Here's a tip. Don't just list the major successes in your life. The little ones make a difference as well. So make your list long and growing. Falling is part of the achievement of progress and growing. We fall. Some stay down, and some get back up. The quicker you get up, the better off and stronger you'll be for the next fall.
My friend, you'll be falling many times, and that's okay as long as you get up quickly!

Action Steps When You Take a Business Fall

1. Think of people who are worse off than you.

2. Make a list of your past successes.

3. Keep in mind that this will make you a stronger person.

4. Think of what will happen if you don't get up.

5. See yourself already successful. Get up and plan for that journey to your success.

Important Points to Keep In Mind When You Take a
Business Fall

* It's not easy getting back up from a fall, but staying down may be even more painful.

* Even the most optimistic of us loses faith, energy, and interest.

* Everyone falls, but you must get right back up or it could be the end of your business career.

* Remember that falling is part of growing.

* Once you get up, you've already become a
stronger person, because you just got up.

* List your successes, no matter how big or small---but list them all.
