Malaysia - It Does Not Matter How Much Knowledge You Have, It Is How Much Action You Can Produce

I graduated from a local university twenty years ago and in my many years of career as a consulting engineer, I noticed that many clients that I worked for, who are much more successful than me are seemingly much less educated than myself. I had also the opportunity to get involved in a network marketing business and looking at the statistics, many of the successful leaders who earns hundred of thousands per month are not that highly educated either. There are many successful people out there who are less educated but have achieved much higher success compared with their much higher educated counterpart. Many of the graduates found that a number of their friends who are less educated than them but perform much better in the business world. Some of the graduates even began to feel that too much of education actually does not do them much good.

So is it true that getting too much education is not good, well I do not believe so. Let me try to explore why some of those who have not attended tertiary education have performed much better in the business world. Those who have not attended tertiary education leave school at age of 18 or earlier and started working right after that and because of their rather low educational back ground, it was rather difficult to get high paying job, of course there are also many exception. For them, they would not mind forego their stable 9 to 5 stable job when they are presented with a business opportunity, some have started business and fail and started other business, some have involved in many business. Since many of them started working young, if they were to start their business after working for others for 5 years, they would probably be in the range of 23 years old which is still relative young compared with graduate who would still be studying in the university. Even if their first business fails, they are still young to try again. Many of them have probably failed once or even twice. For those with strong desire to be rich, they will probably try many businesses until they succeed.

On the other hand, those who have attended tertiary education normally graduate at the age of 23 to 24 and upon graduation , it wouldn't be much of a problem for them to get a reasonably well paying job. Most of those who graduate around my time started off with reasonably good starting pay and many have enjoyed promotion after promotion in the course of their career, for most, it is smooth sailing all along. The idea of starting their own business never arise as life is simply too good. By the time they reach their mid life or forties, their pay check is usually large and for them to give up their stable pay check and face uncertainty in the business world, it would have been a very hard decision to make. It would have been safe to say that for those ambitious few, the idea of starting their own business is always in their mind but the fear of failure is the probably the main cause that is preventing them or delaying them from making the painful decision.

On the whole, like those motivational experts have said, it is not the condition of our life but rather our decision that determine our destiny. Therefore no matter how much knowledge or education a person has, if the person does not take action, there will be no result. So it boil down to the fact it depend on how much action a person can produce. So even though non graduate has lower academic qualification but if the person can consistently produce action after action, he can perform better than a graduate who even though armed with whole mindful of knowledge, does not take much action to change his life.

I would conclude that for those non graduate who have achieve massive success, it is because they don't see their lack of tertiary education as an weakness but take massive action after massive action until their dream is realised. As for graduate, if they can overcome their barrier of their fear of failure, the road to massive success could also be very easy by the very fact of the knowledge they have that enable them to acquire more knowledge at much greater speed.
