Matt Wolf has won an Emmy Award (for Outstanding Creative Achievement for an Interactive Television Program) as a creator and producer for his creation of the "Fallen" Alternate Reality Game, and during his fifteen year run as a game developer, he has been involved in numerous creative development projects for award winning video and computer games.

Additionally, he has pioneered new developments in alternate reality programming and board games. He has also worked on a Bourne Conspiracy video game for the estate of the late author, Robert Ludlam, and his ability to successfully blend new and traditional forms of entertainment, including television and film, have helped set him apart as a neo-icon in the pop culture world.

Alternate reality games (ARGs), such as Wolf's "Fallen", are interactive narratives that use the real world as a platform for storytelling and plot development for television, film, and various other forms of media.

The art of ARGs are incumbent upon intense "player" involvement with a story that occurs in real-time, and evolves based on the responses and coercion of the participants. These participants act directly with the characters in the game by solving plot-based challenges and can work together or independently to organize real life or online activities. The Internet is heavily relied upon as the central binding medium for ARGs, but multimedia (telephone, mail, and email) are heavily used to organize and carry out the aspects of the game.

Alternate reality games are growing quickly in popularity as new games appear on a regular basis and increase the amount of experimentation with new models and subgenres. These games are usually free to play, which encourages new users to join en masse and creates motivation for players to continue to play.

Matt Wolf conceived the alternate reality game for ABC Family's popular show, "Fallen" in 2006, and has since worked on a wide variety of new products spanning television, film, interactive entertainment, and integrated media.

A lifelong fan of video games, Wolf joined the Electronic Arts video game development team in 1993 and played important roles in production, design and marketing for several award-winning games across multiple platforms and genres. Six years later, Wolf became the executive producer in charge of development at Sega Entertainment. In late 2000, Matt Wolf started his own gaming company and has worked on several unique and award winning projects since in a variety of industry-first roles.

Matt Wolf continues to be an integral part of the video game industry and has been a pioneer in bridging the game between traditional video games and other entertainment mediums, such as TV and film.
