The importance of keywords has to do with search engines. Search engine optimization essentially means getting important keywords into the titles and sub titles of the website pages that you have and also making sure that keywords are sprinkled throughout the text in appropriate percentages. All of this is very difficult to master but easy to learn the basics of, so if you are putting together a website, learning the basics of search engine optimization is a very good idea.
