Prom 2008 - The Best 2008 Prom Hair Styles

Even though 2008 has just began, it is never to early to begin thinking about 2008 prom hairstyles. You've probably noticed that stores are already beginning to stock at least some prom dresses, and soon, if it hasn't happened already, magazines aimed at teenage girls will soon be full of prom dress ads.

One trend that is sure to be appearing in many prom pictures this May is the short, ruffled comb over hairstyle that many models and celebrities are already sporting.

First, you'll need to have your salon stylist give you a sleek bob haircut, which are very in demand now, thanks to Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes. You may not know that the bob was actually created by actress Louise Brooks, and has outlasted many trends of its time, but you probably do know that this sophisticated, easy care look is fun to wear and fun to experiment with.

Shampoo your hair with a product designed for your specific hair type, texture, and condition. Finish your shampoo treatment with the proper conditioner, and add a cold water rinse to help close cuticles.

Next, gently blot hair with a towel to dry, and apply a leave in detangling product, working from the ends of the hair to the roots to carefully detangle strands. Part your hair on the side to achieve a slight lift. When your hair is detangled, add an anti frizz serum and a styling glaze or gel. Use a hair dryer equipped with a concentrator tool set on medium heat and a small boar bristle vent brush.

Separate your hair into two to four inch sections with one hand as you dry your hair from the roots to the ends. Work around your head from side to side and then, using your initial side part as a base, create a very deep side part, extending from the hairline towards the crown of the head over one ear.

Separate the top hair that grows away from the part and tease it upwards, using a brush or comb designed for this purpose. Spray with a firm holding hairspray and continue to separate the top hair into sections, and use your fingers to give the appearance of hair that is brushed up and over the crown.

Continue to use a hot iron on all of the hair sections. You can adjust the height of the teased top section, and experiment by back combing into small sections and ruffling them with your fingertips.
